Core Platforms
FAMILY FOCUSED
As a husband of over 30 years, a father of eight children, a family physician, and the president of goFam Ministries, I have dedicated my life to the health of families. As I run for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 5B, your family is a core platform of my candidacy.
-
Children of God
We are adopted into God’s family with value, purpose, and dignity. We are called to be Christ’s ambassadors and to display His goodness on this earth. As I represent you, I hope to represent Him with integrity and compassion. -
“As family goes, so goes the culture.”
If we are concerned about our culture, then the answer is healthy families. We should not disempower, dilute, or redefine what family means, but rather seek to restore it to its inherent value. -
Parental Power
There is no greater calling on the planet than being a parent. I will ardently defend parental choice in both life and education. I will adamantly oppose any effort to disempower parents or indoctrinate our children.
RESTORING OUR FOUNDATIONS
We are the longest-running representative democracy in human history. Because of this, we cannot disconnect from the heart of our Founding Fathers or from our divinely inspired Constitution. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, in that order, was their vision for our country and remains a core platform of my candidacy.
-
Life
I am resolutely pro-life and will be a strong voice in defense of the unborn. Abortion is the primary civil rights issue of our day, yet Minnesota has some of the most liberal and extreme abortion policies in the world. We must move the needle and save the lives of our most vulnerable and defenseless citizens. -
Liberty
Many have fought and died to protect our freedoms. We owe it to them to remain unwavering in our support of the Constitution and our God-given rights. I will defend freedoms that are under attack, including freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, the right to bear arms, and adherence to the rule of law. -
The Pursuit of Happiness
We are all pursuing the American Dream, the opportunity for success and prosperity, and the hope that our children will inherit a better way of life. Government can promote this by getting out of the way, lowering taxes and regulations, and allowing hard work and free enterprise to reduce the cost of living and health care.
GETTING OUR HOUSE IN ORDER
I am asking for your vote because, like so many of you, I was saddened as I watched news centered around Minneapolis—dominated by corruption, fraud, rioting, lawlessness, and division. Complaining accomplishes nothing, and I could no longer stand on the sidelines. I believe I am called to St. Paul to get our house in order, and this is a core platform of my candidacy.
-
Honor Doesn’t Mean Agreement
When we see those with differing views as enemies, the door closes to meaningful change. When we are confident in our convictions, we do not need to shout, insult, belittle, or defame. What we are doing now is clearly not working. We do not need more fighters in the Capitol, we need more champions. -
Less Is More
Many people ask politicians, “What more can you do?” Yet many of our problems exist because government is doing too much. We can improve our state by reducing government overreach, eliminating waste, redundancy, and frivolous bureaucracy, and rooting out fraud. We get our house in order with a little “spring cleaning.” -
Representative Democracy
It would be an honor to represent District 5B. While I will always strive to make it better, I believe we already have something special here. Rural Minnesota embodies camaraderie, security, work ethic, and integrity, qualities the rest of the state could learn from. If I represent you at the Capitol, I will not only protect what we have, but promote what we have.
